I am here for the average person who has seen and experienced events which are not average. Events which you cannot just “forget.”
Are you struggling with sleeplessness, dreams of being there, always trying to get your brain to shut down so you can relax, feeling shame, guilt, anger, and numbness…they didn’t prepare you for this. Having images just push their way into your brain reminding you of that thing, those people, that feeling. They teach you how to do your job, but not how to deal with the consequences. You are fine when surrounded by others who understand, but when you have to go home or loose that comradery... You feel inadequate, a disappointment, or a burden because you cannot explain to your family why you are not there for them or why you are so worried or angry about certain things.
Once you accept how much control you really can have in your recovery...and take responsibility to learn the tools... you can turn things around. You can do things that you want to do rather than accepting that you are going to be damaged and struggle with certain things. You can connect with your family again and be happy.
I offer teletherapy appointments for anyone located in California, Florida, and Idaho who is ready to get better, help their family, and take back control over their lives. Teletherapy enables you to have your appointments privately and flexibly from wherever you need to do them. No more having to schedule in extra time to drive to an office, missing more work, worrying about someone you know seeing you going to counseling, canceling appointments if you are on vacation (some limitations apply), or missing an appointment because you only remembered 5 minutes before your time that you had one scheduled. Simply pick up your phone, laptop, or tablet and log on. All you need is good internet connection or cellular service and privacy.
I also do psychological testing over telehealth. Reach out and schedule a free consultation today. I am here to help you
About Kelly Smith PhD:
My journey to being a psychologist started early in life. I have overcome my own trauma and obstacles. In my journey, I gained a lasting respect for the profession of healing and wanted to pass that same healing along to others. I worked hard to become a compassionate, understanding, and experienced psychologist. I have a wide range of skills and techniques that I use to help my clients heal, grow, and change. Change and growth are hard, but it is one of the most worthwhile experiences you can engage in.
I use some of the most effective therapy methods available today such as: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Trauma Focused: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF:CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help my clients work through their past trauma and overcome depression and anxiety.
